Stoinis was promoted as an opener against Hyderabad after Delhi dropped Prithvi Shaw and he responded in style. Stoinis scored 38 from 27 deliveries with the help of five boundaries and a maximum and was involved in an 86-run opening partnership with Shikhar Dhawan (78). Hetmyer later came to bat in the 14th over and smashed 42 off 22 deliveries and gave DC the end flourish. His innings was studded with four boundaries and a maximum. He helped DC post 189 runs on the scoreboard. Later Stoinis also struck with the ball and picked two wickets in the same over to peg SRH behind in the chase. Stoinis, who came to bowl the fifth over, removed Priyam Garg and Manish Pandey in space of three deliveries.
