Very few are the times, when the cricketers look after their fans and are in the know-how of their needs and wants. England captain Joe Root is definitely one of them and his little gesture impressed Hitman Rohit Sharma. Ahead of the second test between Sri Lanka and England, at Kandy, hundreds of fans from visitors’ side were left disappointed as their hotel booking got cancelled last minute to accommodate both teams. The last-minute notification was surely inconvenient for the fans.

The hosts were left with no choice than to provide another hotel to the fans. The Sri Lankan Government then put the fans to a hotel located 15-minutes away from Pallekele Stadium. The troubles were compensated with a fruit platter in their hotel rooms, which disappointed them further.  England captain Joe Root obviously knew the inconvenience caused to the fans. Thus, during one of the days of the second Test match, Root met these fans and handed each one of them with a letter to express sympathy.

Each of these letters was signed by the skipper himself and in the letter, he urged the fans to continued supporting them. The letter was shared by Rohit Sharma with the caption, “Great gesture by @root66 good looking out.”

The ongoing Test match, Sri Lanka needs 208 runs to win the game on Day 4. England captain Joe Root scored a century. You can get the live cricket score updates from here.
