With more than 90 per cent of the Sun obscured by the Moon, spectators turned their attention from the field to the sky, with many using special eclipse glasses to watch the event.

The eclipse occurred during the men's match, which began at 6.30pm local time. As daylight faded, the Edgbaston floodlights illuminated the ground while spectators looked upwards to follow the celestial event.
