Pakistan Cricket Team might not be doing well in recent time; however, their new emerging star Babar Azam definitely lifted their morale by showing some good characters in his batting. Though Pakistan went through a torrid in South Africa by getting whitewash in Test Series and getting thrashed in ODI & T20 series too, but the 24 years old young Lahori batsman made a mark by batting excellently throughout the series by becoming the top scorer in T20 series and second highest scorer in the Test series. In a recent promotional event ahead of Pakistan Super League(PSL), Babar said that he is currently nowhere near Virat Kohli in terms of performance. The young Pakistani lad said that Indian skipper Kohli is a fantastic player having great accolades to his name. According to Babar, his career has just started, and he has a lot to do to reach anywhere near the Indian captain. Babar has so far played 29 T20Is, 59 ODIs and 21 Tests. Babar has an average of 35.29 in the test with 1235 runs in his name and in ODIs he averages over 51 with 2462 runs.

The reason why Babar Azam has been compared to Virat Kohli by few cricket experts is because of records which he has achieved so far in a very short period. Immediately after his debut, he became an integral part of Pakistani batting line up. He scored a century in three consecutive matches against West Indies, just a few months after his entry in International Cricket. Last year the young Pakistani superstar became the fastest to reach 1000 T20I runs and also joined names with Sir Vivian Richards and Kevin Pietersen as the quickest to reach 1000 ODI runs, surpassing the Indian superstar Kohli.
