Virat Kohli has shattered many records in his illustrious career. Now, as India prepares to lock horns with Australia in the fourth ODI in Ranchi, the Indian cricket captain is just 33 runs away from joining the elite list of cricketers comprising MS Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly and Mohammad Azharuddin. If Kohli manages to score 27 runs in Ranchi, he will be the 12th cricketer to get past the 4000-run mark. He will be only the fourth captain to get this feat. Kohli has so far scored 3973 runs as he led the Indian team. MS Dhoni had scored 6641 runs as the Indian skipper in the shorter format of the game. Talking about the match today, the hosts already enjoy an invincible lead of 2-0 in the five-game series. A win today would mean that the hosts would walk away with the series. Apart from Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja are also on the cusp of breaking a record. The duo is just one wicket away from surpassing Venkatesh Prasad and Nayan Mongia, who also effected 28 dismissals as a bowler-keeper pair in ODI. Ahead of the game, the Indians were seen sweating it out in the nets and looked in shape for the upcoming game which will start today at 1.30 PM.
