Why Was Sanju Samson Given Out?

On the fourth ball of the 16th over, Mukesh Kumar bowled a length ball on which Sanju Samson tried to hit a shot over the long on fielder Shai Hope. However, Hope was good enough to catch the ball and hold onto it. At first, Hope looked imbalanced but held on to his balance pretty well. The decision was reviewed and the umpire had a close look at the incident. In the end, the third umpire gave Sanju Samson out. The commentators who were on air didn't seem happy with the third umpire's call and mentioned that he could have used the zoomer and taken more time to make the decision. But, the major reason that Samson was given as the third umpire couldn't find anything conclusive to overturn the decision.

Sanju Samson had to pay 30 percent of his match fees to argue with the umpire and his dismissal also proved to be the turning point of the match. At the point, Samson was batting it looked like he would easily take the game away from the Delhi Capitals but as he got out, DC were easily able to pull the match towards their end.
