Yesterday after a long wait of about over than seven years, came the verdict of the Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case. The four convicts were given the death penalty and will be hung to death on January 22, 2020. Mukesh, Vinay Sharma, Akshay Singh and Pawan Gupta were issued a death penalty by Additional Sessions Judge Satish Kumar Arora. Post this, Indian former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh took to social media and lauded the decision. Yuvraj wrote, "Justice is the sum of all Moral duties”, Kudos to the Delhi court for its judgment on the Nirbhaya case. Rest in eternal peace now you braveheart.” Nirbhaya’s grandfather who hails from Bihar also said, "Though late, the family has got justice." Ram Singh who was one of the six named Ram Singh allegedly committed suicide at the Tihar jail. A juvenile who was a part of the crime was sent to a reformation home for three years. Apart from Yuvraj Singh, several other celebrities like Varun Dhawan, Harshdeep Kaur and others took to social media and lauded the decision.
