Klopp had previously managed Maniz 05 and Borussia Dortmund where he spent seven years each and also guided Dortmund to two back-to-back Bundesliga titles. Liverpool are currently enjoying a stellar campaign and have an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table over nearest rivals Leicester City. The Reds are surely on the way to win their first-ever PL title and a first top-flight title in 30-years under the management of Jurgen Klopp. The German’s assistants Peter Krawietz and Pepijn Lijnders have also agreed for a contract extension with the Merseyside club. Klopp was delighted with the new contract and has called it a statement of intent from the Reds. ‘For me personally this is a statement of intent, one which is built on my knowledge of what we as a partnership have achieved so far and what is still there for us to achieve.’ The German said about his future with Liverpool.

Contract Extension

This contract extension came on the back of Klopp being named as the Premier League manager of the month for November. Along with the German, long-serving English midfielder James Milner was also given a contract extension which will see him be a part of the Liverpool squad for another two years.
