The good news was celebrated across India and Pakistan, a rare time when arch-rival nations joined hands to celebrate a moment. Shoaib posted a picture from her birthday that shows him and Anam planting a peck on Saniaโ€™s cheeks. Sania married Shoaib in a traditional Hyderabadi Muslim wedding ceremony on April 12, 2010. Sania in an interview with IANSย said she finds motherhood empowering.ย For her, pregnancy doesn't mean taking things away from "what you are or who you are" as she says that one needs to understand that pregnancy doesn't make you handicapped, but empowers a woman in many different ways.

After Sania delivered the baby in Rainbow Hospital in Hyderabad under the guidance of Praneeti Reddy, Shoaib broke the news on social media, tweeting: "Excited to announce: It's a boy, and my girl is doing great and keeping strong as usual #Alhumdulilah. Thank you for the wishes and Duas, we are humbled." They named their Izhaan meaning God's gift, as the parents feel that he is truly one along with both their surnames - Izhaan Mirza Malik is truly lucky to have such thoughtful parents.
