The latest episode of SmackDown LIVE began with The New Day celebrating their Tag-team Championship win in the previous week. During their celebration, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Famer Booker T made his way out. The crowd was delighted to see Booker T doing his King Booker gimmick. All the superstars in the ring did ‘spin-a-rooni’ as the opening segment ended.

The first match on the Smackdown show was a number 1 contender’s match for the Tag-team titles. In a fight involving The Bar, The Colons, and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, it was The Bar who won the match eventually.

Backstage, Smackdown General Manager Paige announced another Triple Threat match amongst Rusev Day, The Usos, and SAnitY. The winners would then face The Bar and determine the new number 1 contenders.

Jeff Hardy came out to a huge pop, next. He addressed the situation and called out Randy Orton. The Viper obliged and the duo exchanged some words while confirming their Hell in a Cell match at the next month’s PPV official.
