Asus has always catered to their gaming audience and proudly call themselves Republic of Gamers (ROG). Asus has always focused on delivering top-notch products under ROG series in terms of PC accessories, laptops and components. Currently, the tech industry has changed their focus to smartphones from supercomputers. Many tech giants have come up with their own gaming smartphones like Razer Phone, Nubia Red Magic and Xiaomi Black Shark. But Asus has unveiled its own gaming smartphone in the Computex 2018 event which commenced from 5 June.

Asus’s ROG Phone is the first gaming smartphone that the company introduced in the Computex 2018 event. The major highlight of ROG phone is the 3D vapor-chamber cooling system, which will be the first smartphone to incorporate one. Asus has also revealed a bunch of accessories that will give gamers an enhanced experience during intense gaming sessions.

As for specifications, The Asus ROG phone packs a 6-inch AMOLED display with HDR support and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The processor powering the gaming beast is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. ROG phone is backed by a 4000mAh battery power with a HyperCharge technology which promises a 60 per cent charge in 30 minutes. As for the graphics power, the ROG offers a Qualcomm Adreno 630 GPU. Asus ROG Phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Asus ZEN UI. The optics provided to this phone is a dual rear camera of 12MP + 8MP with an 8MP front shooter. Asus claims that the device can offer up to 7 hours of Wi-Fi gaming with a full charge.

Talking about the accessories coming with Asus ROG Phone. It offers its users with four add-ons.

AeroActive Cooler: As the name suggest it will keep the device cool during long hours of gameplay and is complementary with the device itself.

TwinView Dock: This allows users to get a handheld gaming mode with dual screen. Where the phone screen will the game running while the second screen will have all the smartphone functions.

Mobile Desktop Dock: This allows you connect the smartphone on the dock which will link it with a monitor or a TV for that big screen experience. The dock comes with a number of ports, such as a USB Type-C port, USB A ports, RJ 45 Ethernet port, a display port and a 3.5mm socket for mic and earphone.

Asus WiGig Dock: This mode comes with a receiver that hooks on to a TV. It also comes with joystick controls that can be attached to the ROG Phone. It uses Wi-Fi 802.11 ac to wirelessly stream games from the phone to a large TV.
