HTC, a Taiwanese consumer electronic company is expected to unveil the new HTC U12+ smartphone at an event on May 23. The upcoming smartphone is expected to be company's flagship device which is expected to break covers by the end of this month. The new handset from HTC will be introduced as a successor HTC U11 series but will skip the U12 variant to make the way for U12+ branding. The company officially announced the arrival of the new smartphone through its official Twitter handle on Thursday. Going by the tweet posted by the company, it reveals the launch date of the smartphone along with the caption mentioning - 'Coming Soon. A phone that is more than the sum of its specs.'

As far as the technical specs are concerned, the upcoming HTC U12+ smartphone is expected to sport dual rear camera module featuring dual 12MP snappers along with two 8MP shooter at the front as well. With the various design renders and case images revealed online, it clearly hints that the smartphone will carry a thin-bezel with a 5.99-inch LCD panel and 18:9 of aspect ratio.

The smartphone is also expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage memory. It is also rumored that the company might also roll out the U12 variant as it was spotted recently online. The U12 smartphone is expected to run on Android Oreo and likely to sport a 6-inch Super WQHD LCD panel along with a "Frame less Display" design, Snapdragon 845 SoC, horizontal dual camera setup, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and HTC branding on the back.
