Mumbai, March 31: Oppo has officially announced the global launch date for its next-generation flagship smartphone, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra. In a social media post on Tuesday, the company confirmed that the device will debut on April 21, 2026. The announcement follows months of speculation regarding the brand's premium imaging capabilities, with reports suggesting that a "Pro" variant, the Find X9s Pro, may also be unveiled alongside the Ultra model.
The Find X9 Ultra is expected to serve as the successor to the current Find X9 series in India. While the previous iteration established Oppo's presence in the high-end photography segment, the upcoming Ultra model aims to set a new benchmark for long-range mobile imaging. The device is being developed in continued collaboration with legendary camera manufacturer Hasselblad. OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra Release Expected in China Soon; Receives MIIT Certification.
OPPO Find X9 Ultra Advanced 50MP Telephoto Lens with 10x Optical Zoom
The defining feature of the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is its sophisticated camera hardware. Oppo Chief Product Officer Pete Lau confirmed that the flagship will boast a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with a native 10x optical zoom. This configuration is significantly more powerful than the 4x or 5x optical zoom typically found on contemporary flagship devices, which often rely on digital cropping for higher magnification.
According to Lau, the native 10x setup is engineered to provide image clarity comparable to professional external teleconverters. By utilising a high-resolution 50MP sensor, the device is expected to deliver near-optical quality even at 20x magnification through sensor cropping. This advancement is specifically targeted at improving performance in challenging scenarios such as wildlife photography and live concerts.
The rear imaging system is rumoured to be a quad-camera array. In addition to the headline 10x telephoto lens, the setup may include two 200MP sensors—one serving as a primary wide-angle lens and another as a secondary periscope unit—complemented by a 50MP ultra-wide camera. This diverse array is designed to cover a wide range of focal lengths with consistent detail.
The partnership with Hasselblad will continue to influence the device's colour science and software processing. Features such as the Hasselblad Masters Mode and XPan mode are expected to return, providing users with professional-grade filters and a unique panoramic shooting experience that mimics traditional film photography.
OPPO Find X9 Ultra Specifications and Display
Under the hood, the Find X9 Ultra is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, making it one of the most powerful Android devices in the market. Leaked specifications suggest the phone will offer up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. To support these high-performance internals, the device is reportedly equipped with a massive 7,050mAh battery, supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.
The visual experience will be anchored by a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display. The screen is expected to feature a 144Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels, ensuring fluid navigation and high colour accuracy. The front of the device will likely house a 50MP selfie camera integrated into the display.
OPPO Find X9 Ultra Release Date in India
While the April 21 launch is a global event, industry insiders anticipate a swift rollout in the Indian market. The Find X9 Ultra will enter a highly competitive segment, facing off against the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and the upcoming iPhone 18 series. Pricing is expected to reflect its "Ultra" branding, potentially positioning it in the premium bracket above INR 90,000.
