Mumbai, March 25: Realme has officially teased the upcoming launch of the Realme 16 5G in India, highlighting a design that prioritises a high-capacity battery within a slim form factor. The smartphone is confirmed to feature a 7,000mAh battery, with the company positioning it as the thinnest device in its class, measuring 8.1mm in thickness and weighing 183g.
The brand attributes this hardware feat to a new "AirCraft Structure," which utilizes tighter internal stacking and high energy-density battery cells. This approach aims to provide multi-day battery life without the bulk typically associated with large-capacity smartphones, leveraging contemporary silicon-carbon battery technology. Realme 16 5G Specifications and Features
The Realme 16 5G will feature a 6.57-inch display, a slightly more compact size compared to many modern flagships. The screen is paired with ultra-narrow bezels and rounded edges to facilitate one-handed use while maintaining an immersive viewing experience.
On the aesthetic front, the device introduces a "Gleaming Wings" finish, characterized by a multi-layered gradient that produces a shifting blue-gold effect under light. To enhance durability and ergonomics, the rear panel includes an anti-fingerprint coating and a skin-friendly texture.
A standout feature of the Realme 16 5G is the inclusion of a small circular "selfie mirror" integrated into the rear camera module. This design allows users to use the high-resolution primary camera for selfies and vlogging by using the mirror as a physical viewfinder.
The rear camera system is expected to lead with a 50MP Sony IMX852 main sensor, supported by a 2MP monochrome lens. For traditional front-facing photography, the device is reportedly equipped with a 50MP selfie camera housed within the display.
Under the hood, the smartphone is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset. While some industry analysts note that this may not represent a significant benchmark increase over the Dimensity 7300 Plus found in the previous generation, the focus appears to be on power efficiency and thermal management to complement the large battery.
