Smartphones voice assistants are getting smarter each day and with Siri coming in, there is definitely no comparison with the old ones that we used few years ago. Even if they are not flawless yet, you can have some conversation with them and hear ultimate answers every now and then. And it can even interrupt you when you are in for some serious talk. Much of that happened in the UK Parliament when Siri thought that the Defence Secretary needed some information about Syria. The iconic moment has been captured in a video when speaking with the members of the Parliament Tory Gavin Williamson was heckled by his own iPhone as he made his speech to the House of Commons. What is Definition of Mother? On June 3, the Defence Secretary was updating the MPs on the fight against the terror group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) when a voice from his pocket interrupted. Some news report such as Mirror suggested that it would probably be the first speech at the Parliament by an artificial intelligence assistant. While Mr Williamson was informing about Syrian democratic forces which was supported by coalition air power in their campaign to stop the expansion of ISIS, Siri said, “I found something on the web for Syrian democratic forces supported by.”

Mr Williamson tweeted about the amusing moment; “One of the pitfalls of having a new iPhone ... I must ask my 13-year-old daughter how to use it! #NewiPhone #Siri.”

As others laughed, the Defence Secretary soon apologised to the MPs present in the house and said; “I do apologise for that, it is very rare that you're heckled by your own mobile phone. So, if I may proceed, Mr Speaker, without the help of Siri.” It is not the first time that a minister’s mobile phone got confused to the word “Syria” with the iPhone assistant’s Siri. In April, viewers were left puzzled when a voice spoke from British Minister of State for the Department for Transport, Jo Johnson’s pocket during an appearance on BBC’s television programme, Question Time.
