With two fresh death cases in Rajasthan on Thursday, the death toll due to the virus in the state has climbed to 131 in 2019. The deceased were from Pali and Barmer districts of the state.
With the latest figure, the death toll across the country due to swine flu soared to 332 from 312 on February 11.
Reports inform that five people died of the H1N1 virus- one each in Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Udaipur, and Chittorgarh. With this, the death toll due to swine flu in the state spiked to 112 from January 1 to February 11.
People have been panicking about the rising cases of the virus-borne infection, which generally spike in the winter months.
Swine flu is a highly contagious influenza caused by the H1N1 virus.
The officer further informed that 22-23 patients are on a ventilator. The officer advised that people should immediately go to a doctor when they experience a flu-like symptom.
The swine flu scare is back to haunt the residents of Maharashtra with six deaths having been recorded over the past four days. The flu has so far claimed 20 deaths this year.
