Preet Pankaj Jain, a 31-year-old man from Mumbai, has been arrested in Davidson County, Tennessee, on multiple charges linked to the alleged s*xual exploitation of a minor, after he allegedly travelled from India to the US to reach a girl who had blocked him online. Police say Jain was taken into custody after they responded on September 24 to a report of an adult man allegedly stalking a minor in the Medlands Community area. He faces four counts of first-degree s*xual exploitation of a minor, four counts of third-degree s*xual exploitation of a minor and one count of s*xual extortion, and a court has denied him bail.
Jain appeared before a magistrate and was then brought before the Davidson County District Court on September 25. Uber Driver Raised The Alarm
The case began when an Uber driver alerted authorities about the alleged stalking. During questioning, Jain reportedly told police he had gone to meet a girl he knew through online dating and was trying to give her a gift. What Police Say Devices Revealed
The Davidson County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division examined Jain's electronic devices as part of the probe. According to police, the forensic examination indicated that he had allegedly hidden his real age and identity while keeping up an online relationship with the girl over an extended period.
Girl Blocked Him After Learning The Truth
Police say the girl later discovered Jain's true identity and ended all communication, allegedly blocking him online. Jain then allegedly travelled from Mumbai to the US in an attempt to contact her again.
The charges against Jain are allegations, and the case remains before the court.
