Who Is Karyna Shuliak? Belarus-Born Dentist Who Could Inherit Jeffrey Epstein’s Fortune and Diamond Ring

Dr Karyna Shuliak, a 37-year-old dentist from Belarus, has emerged in the spotlight after newly released US Justice Department files revealed details of her long relationship with convicted financier Jeffrey Epstein. According to a report by The New York Times, Shuliak could inherit up to USD 100 million and a 33-carat diamond ring from Epstein's estate.

The report says Shuliak was Epstein's girlfriend for nearly eight years and was the last person he spoke to by phone before he died in a New York jail in August 2019. His will reportedly described the diamond ring as a gift given 'in contemplation of marriage'.

Relationship With Epstein

The Justice Department recently released around three million pages of investigation records, including thousands of emails and photographs documenting Shuliak's relationship with Epstein.

According to the report, Shuliak has never identified herself as one of Epstein's victims and has not been accused by federal authorities of participating in his s*x trafficking operation.

The emails reportedly show Epstein financially supported her, paying nearly USD 1 million over the years, covering her travel, education and living expenses, while also sending money to her parents in Belarus. How They Met

Shuliak moved to New York from Belarus in 2010 on a student visa to study English while working as a dental assistant. She met Epstein in 2011 through another young woman.

Columbia Admission and Citizenship

The report states Epstein helped Shuliak gain admission to Columbia University's College of Dental Medicine after she was initially rejected. He reportedly contacted university officials and discussed making a multimillion-dollar donation before eventually donating about $210,000.

Shuliak completed dental school in 2015.

After overstaying her student visa, she reportedly entered into a same-s*x marriage with one of Epstein's assistants in 2013. Immigration paperwork filed by lawyers working for Epstein helped her obtain a green card, and she became a US citizen in 2018. The marriage ended in divorce a year later.

Epstein's Death and Inheritance

In July 2019, Epstein was arrested on federal s*x trafficking charges after returning to the United States from Paris.

According to the report, during a phone call from jail shortly before his death, Epstein advised Shuliak to stay strong and find another place to live while his legal case continued.

He was found dead in his jail cell on August 10, 2019. Authorities ruled his death a suicide.

Despite the controversy, Shuliak returned to dentistry. According to The New York Times, she completed a postdoctoral programme at Columbia in 2025, obtained a New York dental licence and later worked part-time at a clinic in Brooklyn.

The report says she stopped reporting to work shortly after the Epstein files became public, with patients reportedly knowing her only as 'Dr Karyna'.
