‘25 LPA Feels Like Nothing in Bangalore’: Employee Moves From Pune to Bengaluru for 40% Salary Hike, Now Regrets His Decision

A LinkedIn post about a working professional who regrets moving to Bengaluru from Pune for a 40% salary hike has gone viral. The viral post, made by Ishan Arora last week, is about his friend who shifted to Bengaluru to join a firm that offered him 25 LPA. Despite 40% salary hike, the disappointed employee says "25 LPA feels like nothing in Bangalore". When shocked Arora asked for reasons, his friend attributed his decision to the higher cost of living in Bengaluru. "It's (40% increment in salary) peanuts for Bangalore. Rents here are exorbitantly high. Landlords are misers, asking for 3-4 months' of deposit. Traffic is terrible and commuting costs a fortune (sic)," Arora's friend explained.
