A horrifying video of a young girl being brutally beaten with sticks on the soles of her feet is being widely shared on social media. The video is reportedly from Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh and has prompted Priyanka Gandhi to warn of a massive agitation if the girl’s attackers were not arrested. UP Police Officer Arpit Kapoor has said they have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and arrested one Naman Soni so far.
