Born on October 17, 1970, Anil Kumble rings in his 49th birthday on Thursday. The leg-spinner is one of the best bowlers to have graced the gentlemen’s game and is India’s highest wicket-taker in international cricket. Unlike other great spinners, Kumble was not huge turner of the ball but relied on his line and length to outfox the batsman. Along with being a sensational spinner, the former was a great leader too and had a brief but successful as the Indian captain.
