England defeated India by 22 runs in what turned out to be a fascinating IND vs ENG 3rd Test 2025 at the Lord's Cricket Ground on July 14. India, at 58/4, started Day 5 needing 135 runs to win and six wickets in hand but things dramatically changed in the first session where the visitors lost four wickets. Jofra Archer dismissed Rishabh Pant (9) before Ben Stokes got rid of KL Rahul (39). Jofra Archer once again struck, this time accounting for Washington Sundar (0) and Chris Woakes ended Nitish Kumar Reddy's stay for 13 runs. After lunch, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah battled it out hard against the England bowlers. The two fought hard with a 35-run partnership and slowly, India started to get closer to the target. But Jasprit Bumrah's 54-ball vigil came to an end when he attempted a big shot off Ben Stokes' bowling and was caught by substitute fielder Sam Cook. Ravindra Jadeja continued to fight, this time with Mohammed Siraj (4) with a 23-run partnership but under the most dramatic of circumstances, Shoaib Bashir dismissed the latter, handing England a 22-run win and a 2-1 series lead. Ravindra Jadeja scored a valiant 61, his fourth straight fifty in Tests and was unbeaten at the other end but his fight went in vain. Ben Stokes was named Player of the Match for his all-round show.
