Covaxin Covid-19 Vaccine Still Not Approved For 2-18 Years Age Group, Evaluation Going On, Clarifies Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar, MoS Health

On October 12, an expert panel recommended Covaxin, Bharat Biotech's Covid-19 vaccine for use on children between the ages of 2 & 18. However, hours after the expert panel’s recommendations, Minister of State for Health, Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar clarified that the evaluation is still going on. “The evaluation is still going on. There is some confusion & the talks are underway with the experts' committee. Till now the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) hasn't approved it,” said Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar, MoS Health to ANI. The final approval will be given by the Drug Controller General of India.
