Dev Deepawali takes place on the occasion of Kartik Purnima. It falls 15 days after Diwali. This year, Dev Deepawali is being celebrated on November 12. Varanasi observes Dev Deepavali with great fervour. At the holy Ghats of River Ganges, earthen lamps are lit & decorated on the stairs & temples. It marks the victory of Lord Shiva over demon Tripurasur.
