This year, Bakrid, also known as Eid-al-Adha or Eid-ul-Adha is being celebrated on July 21. Muslims across the globe celebrate the 'festival of sacrifice', Bakrid with much enthusiasm and fervour. The special day is considered to be the second of the two most important Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each year.

Eid al-adha is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah month. Due to the Covid-19 second wave scare, celebrations nationwide are low-key during festivals. PM Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted to pour in their wishes. Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh, Huma Qureshi, Madhuri Dixit, Hema Malini and other Bollywood stars wished their fans on social media.
