This day of fasting commemorates the immense love of a mother towards her children. Jivitputrika Vrat or Jitya Vrat is observed without drinking a single drop of water on this day. This strict observance by mothers is to pray for the well-being, health and prosperity of their children. It is mostly observed in the Indian states of Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh and is popular in Nepal too. On this day, the mothers consume food as a source of nourishment after taking a shower in the morning. Wish all those keeping a fast with greetings on Jivitputrika Vrat 2022.
