One of Hinduism’s biggest festival – the Kumbh Mela begins from January 14 and will go on for 48 days until April 2021.  Kumbh Mela is celebrated in a cycle of 12 years at the banks of 12 holy rivers. Millions of Hindus congregate on the banks of River Ganga-Yamuna confluence (Prayagraj), Ganga (Haridwar), Godavari (Nashik), and Shipra (Ujjain) every four years. Kumbh Mela 2021 is being held in Haridwar and despite the pandemic, lakhs are expected to bathe in the River Ganga.
