January 30 marks the death anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The punyatithi of Mahatma Gandhi is observed every year in India as Martyrs’ Day (Shaheed Diwas). He played a very important role in India’s fight for independence. Fondly known as Bapu, Mahatma Gandhi fought for India’s independence through non-violent ways.
