A video of passengers confronting Pragya Thakur while she was involved in an argument with the SpiceJet's staff over them shifting her to another seat has been published by various news agencies. The argument over the seat-change caused a delay of over an hour for the passengers of SpiceJet’s Flight SG 2489 which was flying from Delhi to Bhopal. Pragya Singh Thakur, BJP MP from Bhopal has since accused airline SpiceJet of not allowing her to occupy her allotted seat while she was traveling with them on SpiceJet Flight SG 2489 Delhi-Bhopal route. But the airline clarified that passengers who use wheelchairs are not allowed to occupy emergency row exit seats, as per international safety norms and laws.
