Seven Civilians Killed By Terrorists In A Week In J&K Including Two Teachers Shot Dead In Latest Attack

On October 7, a female principal and a teacher were shot dead by militants. The incident took place in their government school in Srinagar. These killings take the number of civilians killed by militants to seven in just five days. Principal, Supinder Kaur, a Sikh from Beerwah village in Budgam and Deepak Chand, a teacher who was a Hindu from Jammu, were shot from point-blank range. Union Minister Of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan tweeted, “Extremely shocked to hear about the cowardly killing of the principal and teacher of Govt.” On October 5, Makhan Lal Bindroo, owner of a prominent Srinagar pharmacy was killed by suspected militants. He was inside his shop named Bindroo Medicate pharmacy in Iqbal Park, when he was shot at close range. On the same day suspected militants also shot dead a roadside vendor who was selling Bhelpuri. Congress leader Shashi Tharoor tweeted, “The recent targeted killings in Kashmir show how insecurity is growing despite Govt's much-touted gains.” Watch the video to know more.
