Vat Savitri Vrat, also known as Savitri Brata is a Hindu festival that is celebrated by married women in North India and in the Western Indian states of India. Married women observe a strict fast, and worship the banyan tree and Goddess Gauri and Satyavan-Savitri. The puja is performed for the well-being of husbands and for peaceful married life.
