The court was told that the teacher utilized her position of authority to initiate the abuse, which initially took place at her home. The matter was brought to the police's attention in October 2024, prompting an investigation that led to the teacher’s arrest. Judge Linda Petrusa sentenced the woman to six years and six months in prison. During the proceedings, the judge emphasized the severe breach of trust inherent in the teacher-student relationship. She described the offender's actions as a "gross violation" of professional boundaries, noting that the age gap and the teacher's role created a significant power imbalance.

The offender will be eligible for parole after serving four years and six months of her sentence.
