Muzaffarabad, October 23: Journalists in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) on Wednesday staged a protest outside Muzaffarabad Press Club against Pakistani security forces. Yesterday, several journalists in PoK were attacked by security forces. The video of the protest has surfaced on social media. In the video, journalists can be heard saying that attacks on the press club and fellow journalists will be tolerated. On Tuesday, journalists were injured after police raided the press club in Muzaffarabad during the media briefing by Jammu Kashmir People’s National Alliance (JKPNA). Pakistan forces fired tear gas shells and lathi-charged the journalists. They also broke the equipment of the reporters. On the same day, two civilians were killed, and over 80 others were injured after police attacked peaceful pro-freedom rally which was organised to observe "black day". People in PoK Protest Against Lack of Health, Education Facilities.

As per ANI, various political parties under the All Independent Parties Alliance (AIPA) in PoK had called for a pro-freedom rally in Muzaffarabad on Tuesday. It was on this day in 1947 that Pakistani forces had invaded Jammu and Kashmir. People also reportedly came out on streets to stage protest. Residents of PoK and Gilgit Baltistan observe “balck day” against the illegal occupation of Pakistan.
