"The tyre caught fire while landing. Using the fire engine, it has been contained. All the passengers are safely evacuated," Silawal stated. According to airport officials, the Airbus aircraft was carrying 278 passengers and 11 crew members. The passenger manifest reportedly included several United Nations officials traveling to the Nepali capital. Following the evacuation, the taxiway was temporarily secured as technical teams began an initial assessment of the damage.
