4 Overground Workers of NDFB Nabbed in Assam

The Army has apprehended four overground workers of the separatist outfit NDFB (Songbijit) in Baksa and Chirang districts of Assam for alleged possession and supply of arms and ammunition, a defence spokesman said.

Guwahati, Oct 31 (PTI) The Army has apprehended four overground workers of the separatist outfit NDFB (Songbijit) in Baksa and Chirang districts of Assam for alleged possession and supply of arms and ammunition, a defence spokesman said.

Troops of Red Horns Division and Baksa district police personnel carried out a two-day long operation from Tuesday to track down the suspects, the spokesman said.

At a mobile check-post, three people travelling in a vehicle were apprehended on Tuesday. A .303 rifle, nine live rounds and four mobile phones were seized from them, he said.

Following their interrogation, their accomplice was arrested in Chirang district. An AK-56 assault rifle and a US-made M2 carbine were seized from him.
