Amravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], October 19 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Monday launched a fresh attack on Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing the opposition party of resorting to violence, criminal activities and deliberate obstruction of government initiatives.

Addressing a press conference in Undavalli, CM Naidu alleged that YSRCP had brought gangs, rowdies and criminals from Punjab, other states and interstate networks to create disturbances in places such as Punganur and Rayachoti. He also named Dharmavaram, Tirupati, Pulivendula and Darsi, accusing the opposition of attempting to carry out its activities unchecked in these areas.

CM Naidu further accused YSRCP of repeatedly approaching courts to obstruct government decisions and electoral processes. He alleged that the party had filed around 60 petitions challenging aspects of the local body election process and opposed BC reservations.

He also claimed that YSRCP had approached the courts nearly 300 times in connection with DSC teacher recruitment, creating hurdles to the process. According to CM Naidu, the opposition was using court cases and claims of injustice as a means to prevent government initiatives from moving forward.

Appealing to the public, CM Naidu criticised what he described as a pattern of violence, legal obstruction and disruption by YSRCP, concluding that violence was deeply ingrained in the party’s political approach.

However, a day prior, Jagan Reddy accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of resorting to political violence and alleged that the State Election Commission was functioning in favour of the ruling party.

Jagan alleged that the entire election process was being conducted irregularly, claiming that reservations were allocated arbitrarily, wards and divisions were altered at will, and only three days were provided for filing nominations.

He further alleged that officials were refusing to accept nomination papers and that candidates were facing threats and illegal cases.

He questioned why attacks and alleged attempts on the lives of candidates were taking place if the ruling coalition enjoyed public support. He also questioned reports of police firing and alleged that police personnel were failing to protect opposition candidates.

Jagan alleged that although the TDP, Jana Sena and BJP were contesting together, TDP candidates were being fielded under the banners of its alliance partners.

He accused Chandrababu Naidu of misusing official machinery and alleged that police were not taking action against TDP leaders carrying weapons or those allegedly attacking YSRCP candidates. (ANI)
