New Delhi, Jul 11 (PTI) Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi will chair a zonal meeting of the ministry in Gujarat's Kevadia on Saturday in a bid to boost Centre-state coordination and strengthen the delivery of welfare programmes at the grassroots.

The gathering will bring together ministers and senior officials from the women and child development departments of six states and Union territories.

Representatives from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Goa, and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu will participate in the meeting, which is designed as a platform for constructive dialogue and convergence.

Savitri Thakur, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, and Bhanuben Babariya, Gujarat's Minister for Women and Child Development, will also be present.

According to an official statement, the meeting will focus on strengthening the implementation of the ministry's flagship schemes of Mission Shakti, Mission Vatsalya, and Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0.

Discussions will include the use of digital tools like the Poshan Tracker, emerging technologies such as Face Recognition Systems (FRS), and strategies to improve integrated and technology-enabled service delivery.

The event will also feature presentations on innovative models and successful interventions from participating states, with the aim of encouraging cross-learning and replication of best practices across the region.

As part of the programme, delegates will take part in a plantation drive under the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign. The itinerary also includes visits to the Children's Nutrition Park and the Statue of Unity, along with participation in the Narmada Aarti and the light and sound show.
