Washington D.C. [USA], Oct 9 (ANI): The makers of American screenwriter James Gunn's upcoming horror movie revealed that the film now be released on May 24, 2019, as opposed to November 30 this year.
Titled as 'BrightBurn', the flick will open opposite Disney and Guy Ritchie's live-action 'Aladdin', as well as Warner Bros.' video game adaptation 'Minecraft' and Fox's 'Stuber', confirmed The Hollywood Reporter.
Starring Elizabeth Banks, Gunn's brother Brian Gunn and cousin Mark Gunn wrote the script, with 'The Hive' filmmaker David Yarovesky directing.
This comes after James Gunn was fired from the Guardians of Galaxy franchise after his controversial tweets on topics like pedophilia and rape.
On a related note, actress Selma Blair had quit twitter over her support towards reinstating Gunn in the film and also called him "one of the good ones".
Apart from Blair, 'Guardians of Galaxy' star Dave Bautista also defended the director after he was fired. (ANI)
