Melbourne [Australia], Oct 12 (ANI): Australian fast bowler John Hastings, who is suffering from life-threatening bleeding attacks, has thanked all his supporters who wished him well in this "tough period."

Taking to Twitter, the 32-year-old admitted that the situation is very tough for him. He, however, added that he is getting through the period with the help of his friends and family.

"Thank you for the love means a lot," he captioned an image on Twitter.

The right-arm bowler, reportedly, had to take an indefinite break from cricket following a health issue causing persistent bleeding in his lungs.

The pacer, who had signed for Big Bash League team Sydney Sixers, has been sidelined from the tournament owing to his medical condition.

Hastings has played a total of 29 ODIs for Australia scoring 271 runs with an average of 27.1 while in 9 T20Is, he has made 46 runs with an average of 11.5. (ANI)
