Mumbai, Aug 28 (PTI) The national lob of shadow banks, Finance Industry Development Council (FIDC), said it has elected Umesh Revankar as its chairman for two years.

The lobby said elections were held on Monday in Mumbai.

Revankar, the executive vice-chairman of Shriram Finance, brings over three-and-a-half decades of experience in the financial services industry.

After joining as an executive trainee with the Shriram Group in 1987, he has risen through the ranks, assuming various responsibilities and key leadership roles in business operations.

The lobby also elected Kamlesh Gandhi of MAS Financial Services, and KV Srinivasan of Profectus Capital as co-chairmen.

FIDC is a self-regulatory organisation-cum-representative body of the non-banking finance companies registered with the Reserve Bank since 2004.

*** Amazon reaches 6,000 electric vehicles milestone in India delivery fleet * Multinational technology company Amazon on Monday announced reaching 6,000 electronic vehicles mark in its India delivery fleet, being on track to reach their milestone of 10,000 EVs in India by 2025.

Deliveries in more than 400 cities, the American conglomerate partnered with local original equipment manufacturers in India, including small and medium businesses (SMEs) and startups for mobility solutions.

"Transforming a transportation network at this scale and pace requires innovative strategies, and we're proud of the progress we've made towards deploying 10,000 EVs by 2025," Amazon VP of Customer Fulfilment for Transportation Services, Global Specialty Fulfilment, and Supply Chain at Amazon India Abhinav Singh said.

Amazon is also a partner of the "Shoonya - Zero-Pollution Mobility" campaign launched by the Indian government in September 2021, which aims to accelerate the transition to zero-emission vehicles for urban deliveries and ride-hailing services.
