Dharamshala (HP), Aug 18 (PTI) A man was arrested today for allegedly raping a mentally challenged girl in Himachal Pradesh's Dharamshala district, police said.

Love Kumar alias Abhishek, a resident of Dharamshala, was arrested this evening on the charges of raping a mentally challenged girl, they said.

Kangra SP Santosh Patial said the girl's grandmother lodged a complaint yesterday at a women police station in Dharamshala. In the complaint, she alleged that Abhishek used to thrash and stalk her granddaughter, and accused him of raping the girl.

The girl is mentally challenged and her statement as well as that of her grandmother were recorded, Patial said.
