Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) [India], Mar 19 (ANI): Jabalpur High Court on Tuesday quashed Madhya Pradesh government's order of increasing the percentage of reservation for OBC community to 27 per cent in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG Counselling.The Congress government led by Kamal Nath state had issued an ordinance on March 8 increasing the reservation in the OBC category to 27 per cent.Aditya Sanghi the counsel of petitioners told ANI, "On March 8 an ordinance was brought as per which the reservation for OBC would be increased from 14 per cent to 27 per cent, as a result, total reservation for SC, ST and OBC was 63 per cent. By law, reservation cannot exceed 50 per cent."The counselling for postgraduate courses are scheduled to start from March 25. The court has sought replies within two weeks from the state director for medical education and the principal secretary of the medical education department, added Sanghi. (ANI)
