Noida, Sep 5 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Jai Pratap Singh has asked the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration to resolve problems of farmers on priority, as he reviewed development works in the district Wednesday.

The Minister of Excise and Prohibition in the Yogi Adityanath government held a meeting with senior officials, including District Magistrate Brajesh Narayan Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal Sharma, in the presence of Noida MLA Pankaj Singh.

Noida Authority CEO Alok Tandon and its other officials were also present in the meeting in which local issues, including parking and traffic woes, in the city were discussed.

"The minister has asked the district officials to address the concerns of farmers on priority," according to an official statement.

He was also apprised about several other problems being faced by the residents, including the menace of stray dogs at places in the city.

Talking about parking problems in the district, MLA Pankaj Singh said no parking mafia should be allowed in the city and directed the district magistrate to get the issue resolved by coordinated efforts of the authority and the police.

Some locals also raised the problem of road traffic after which it was decided that the authority would get additional resources for a month to ensure smooth flow of traffic, according to the statement.

On the issue of cleanliness, the authority informed the minister that solid waste management and door-to-door collection of waste would begin in a week's time in the district.

"Gautam Buddh Nagar is also targeting to ensure that there is zero open defecation here by October 2 and is running a campaign towards it," the authority informed the minister.
