Krishna (Andhra Pradesh) [India], Mar 7 (ANI): The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Thursday held a protest demanding the removal of ineligible votes. The TDP leaders from Andhra Pradesh's Krishna district appealed to the tahsildar to remove the ineligible votes. The villagers alleged that though they complained four days ago, nothing is done till date. However, the tahsildar assured proper enquiry. The tahsildar said, "I have taken charge on February 23. On March 4, some people in Peddapuram village came to me. They brought to my notice that some ineligible people are enrolled in voters' lists. They have submitted Form 7. Today, we have downloaded those applications. We have served notices in the village and are sending Form 13 and 14."The tahsildar added, "An enquiry will be held at Gram Panchayat office on March 9. The voters' list is published on January 11. Villagers brought the matter to our notice on March 4. Today, we served notices to both the parties and enquiry will be held on March 9. All the facts can be known after enquiry only. I don't know the developments before my joining; will have to refer the documents."In the wake of recent allegations of the data breach, the villagers were afraid of the correctness of the electoral rolls. The tahsildar assured that after thorough enquiry and proper scrutiny only, the votes will be removed. (ANI)
