Two Tourists, Driver Go Missing After MUV Falls in River

Two tourists from Rajasthan and a driver of a multi utility vehicle (MUV) went missing on Wednesday after the vehicle carrying them fell into the Tista river near Sevoke in Darjeeling district, police said.

Siliguri (WB), Jul 10 (PTI) Two tourists from Rajasthan and a driver of a multi utility vehicle (MUV) went missing on Wednesday after the vehicle carrying them fell into the Tista river near Sevoke in Darjeeling district, police said.

A person approached a civic volunteer and informed him about the accident and the volunteer in turn informed the officers of Sevoke police station.

The police after reaching the accident spot found the number plate of the vehicle, part of its roof and a pair of shoes.

A search operation was initiated after the police informed the disaster management officials, a police officer said.

Disaster management personnel were looking for the vehicle and the three occupants till last reports came in.

There is a possibility that the vehicle was washed away by the force of water in Tista river, the police officer said.
