Kalon (Minister) Tsegyal Chukya Dranyi of the Department of Religion and Culture, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), has urged Tibetans in Mundgod to remain united and work collectively for the welfare of the community, according to information provided by the Central Tibetan Administration.
Mundgod (Karnataka) [India], August 24 (ANI): Kalon (Minister) Tsegyal Chukya Dranyi of the Department of Religion and Culture, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), has urged Tibetans in Mundgod to remain united and work collectively for the welfare of the community, according to information provided by the Central Tibetan Administration.
On the fifth day of his visit to Mundgod, Dranyi addressed a public gathering at the main community hall of Doeguling Tibetan Settlement, where he outlined the priorities of the 17th Kashag and highlighted programmes being undertaken by his department.

According to the CTA, the Kalon said the primary responsibility of the 17th Kashag (Cabinet) is to fulfil the aspirations of the Dalai Lama and ensure that Tibetans inside Tibet do not lose hope in the Tibetan community in exile. He also said the administration remains committed to responding firmly to those making derogatory remarks against the Tibetan spiritual leader.
On the issue of the Dalai Lama's reincarnation, Dranyi said continued support would be sought from the United States and 38 countries that have expressed support for the Tibetan position, the CTA said. He further stated that cooperation with the Government of India would be strengthened concerning the Dalai Lama's security.

The Kalon, according to the CTA, said the Kashag would function within the law without discrimination based on religious tradition or region, while maintaining fairness and strengthening collective efforts. He also stressed respectful engagement with Tibetan democratic institutions and autonomous bodies.
During his visit, Dranyi toured Thoeding Monastery, the Men-Tsee-Khang branch, Sambhota Tibetan School, Bokar Thoesam Norling Monastery, Norbu Ri and Drikung Kagyu Dechen Choekyi Ling. He also met elderly and vulnerable residents across Camps 1, 3 and 4 to enquire about their welfare.
At a gathering organised by 26 local associations, he said differences of opinion were natural in a democracy but should not divide the Tibetan community. He called on local leaders and association representatives to work together in unity and solidarity for the community's benefit, according to the CTA. (ANI)
