Classic Legends, the manufacturer behind iconic brands Jawa, Yezdi, and BSA, is set to expand its motorcycle portfolio with the launch of new scrambler models in the 2026-27 financial year (FY27). This strategic move follows a significant 39% year-on-year growth in sales volume during FY26, as the company seeks to strengthen its position in India’s competitive premium two-wheeler market. According to Vahan data, the firm has recently secured a position among the top 10 two-wheeler manufacturers in the country by sales volume.

The planned expansion will focus specifically on the scrambler category, featuring motorcycles designed for both urban commuting and light off-road terrain. Co-founder Anupam Thareja confirmed the company’s intent to bolster its current lineup, though specific technical details regarding engine displacement or styling remain undisclosed. This initiative aligns with a broader industry trend where Indian consumers are increasingly moving toward retro-inspired lifestyle motorcycles that offer versatile performance. Triumph 350cc Range Engine Specifications Leaked; Launch on April 6.

Strategic Growth and Market Positioning

The decision to introduce new models comes after a successful fiscal year for Classic Legends, which recorded over 45,000 unit registrations in FY26. By focusing on the scrambler segment, the company is leveraging the historical heritage of the Yezdi and BSA brands, both of which were early pioneers in adapting motorcycles for mixed-terrain riding.

Competition in the Premium Segment

As the mid-sized premium motorcycle market becomes more crowded, Classic Legends aims to maintain its current momentum by catering to niche enthusiast demands. The introduction of these FY27 models is expected to provide a wider range of options for riders seeking a balance between heritage aesthetics and modern off-road capabilities. Suzuki Burgman Street 2026 Launched: Price, Specifications and Key Features.

Future Portfolio Development

While the current portfolio already includes various iterations under the Jawa and Yezdi names, the upcoming scramblers represent a fresh attempt to capture the growing "adventure-scrambler" interest. Industry analysts suggest that consistent product refreshes and new category entries will be essential for the brand to sustain its top-10 ranking in the coming years.
