Land Rover Defender 110 Price Drops Up to INR 34 Lakh in India

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India has initiated local assembly for the Land Rover Defender 110 at its Pune manufacturing facility, shifting production from fully imported Completely Built-Up units to Completely Knocked Down kits sourced from Slovakia. The strategic production move has significantly lowered ex-showroom prices across select variants of the luxury sport utility vehicle.

The price reductions affect the X-Dynamic HSE variants, which are available with 2.0-litre turbo-petrol, 3.0-litre turbo-petrol, and 3.0-litre diesel engine options. Revised Variant Pricing and Cost Reductions

The price adjustments vary by powertrain, with larger engine configurations receiving the most significant reductions. The 3.0-litre petrol and diesel versions of the Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE experienced price cuts of 34 lakh INR, bringing their ex-showroom figures down from 1.52 crore INR to 1.18 crore INR.

Meanwhile, the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol variant saw a price reduction of INR 14 lakh, dropping to INR 99 lakh. Official customer bookings are open via authorized dealerships and digital platforms, with vehicle deliveries scheduled to commence nationwide from November 15.

Expanded Standard Equipment and Manufacturing Context

Beyond the immediate financial savings, local assembly has allowed JLR to include numerous formerly optional features as standard equipment. Larger engine variants gain up to INR 17 lakh in standard upgrades, such as 20-inch alloy wheels, electronic active differential with torque vectoring, a Meridian surround sound system, and a head-up display.
