Maruti Suzuki To Launch 4 New Models in India, Electric MPV and Brezza Facelift in Pipeline

Maruti Suzuki plans to launch four new models in 2026, including the Brezza facelift in May and a new electric MPV (YMC) by the festive season. The strategy includes significant tech and design updates for the Wagon R and Grand Vitara to maintain competitiveness against new entrants. These launches follow the February debut of the e Vitara, which started at an introductory INR 10.99 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki is preparing a major product offensive for the Indian market following the successful launch of its first electric vehicle, the e Vitara, in February 2026. The company has outlined a strategy to introduce four new or updated models throughout the current calendar year, aiming to consolidate its leadership in the internal combustion engine (ICE) segment while expanding its footprint in the burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) space.

The upcoming launches include mid-cycle refreshments for the Brezza and Grand Vitara, a significant update for the Wagon R, and the debut of a high-capacity electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). This product surge comes as competitors like Tata Motors and Renault have intensified the mid-size SUV segment with the recent arrivals of the Sierra and the new-generation Duster. VinFast VF MPV 7 Pre-Bookings Open for New Electric Seven-Seater Ahead of April 15 Launch.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift Expected in May 2026

The second-generation Brezza, originally launched in June 2022, is slated for a comprehensive mid-cycle update expected around May 2026. This facelift will likely feature significant cosmetic revisions, including redesigned bumpers, a new radiator grille, and updated LED lighting signatures.

Interior upgrades are expected to be substantial, with rumours suggesting the introduction of a panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats with electric adjustment for the driver. The infotainment system is also anticipated to grow from a 9-inch to a 10.1-inch unit, aligning the compact SUV with more premium offerings in the Nexa and Arena portfolios.

Maruti YMC Electric MPV To Debut by Festive Season

Positioning itself in the premium electric segment, Maruti Suzuki is developing its first electric MPV, currently codenamed ‘YMC.’ Based on the same dedicated EV platform as the e Vitara, the YMC is expected to be unveiled towards the end of the third quarter, timed for the Indian festive season.

The electric MPV will likely be offered with two battery pack options: a 48.8 kWh LFP pack providing approximately 400 kilometres of range, and a larger 61.1 kWh pack targeting a 500-kilometre range. This model will directly compete with the upcoming Kia Carens EV, offering front-wheel-drive configurations with power outputs ranging from 142 hp to 172 hp.

Updates for Wagon R and Grand Vitara

Maruti Suzuki is also readying a second facelift for the third-generation Wagon R. Key updates include a revised radiator grille, new colour schemes, and modernised tech features such as USB Type-C ports. Notably, the CNG variant may receive a new underbody fuel tank design, a move aimed at reclaiming boot space that is typically occupied by the cylinder in current models. 2026 Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Teased Ahead of April 9 Launch; Here's What to Expect.

Similarly, the Grand Vitara is expected to receive a facelift to counter new rivals like the Renault Duster. The updated SUV is likely to feature Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a gesture-controlled powered tailgate. Like the Wagon R, the Grand Vitara CNG may also adopt the underbody tank configuration to improve utility.
