New Delhi, June 29: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the bank holiday calendar for July 2026, outlining the days when bank branches will remain closed across different parts of the country. The holiday schedule includes regional festivals, commemorative observances and the regular second and fourth Saturday closures, along with weekly Sunday holidays. Since several holidays are applicable only in specific states and cities, customers are advised to check the schedule relevant to their location before planning a visit to their bank branch.

While bank branches will remain closed on notified holidays, customers can continue to access banking services through ATMs, internet banking, mobile banking and UPI platforms. RBI Bank Holiday Calendar July 2026: City-Wise Holiday List

The first regional bank holiday in July falls on July 6 (Monday), when banks in Aizawl will remain closed on account of MHIP Day.

On July 9 (Thursday), banks in Shillong will remain shut for Beh Deinkhlam, a prominent cultural and religious festival celebrated in Meghalaya.

A larger number of cities will observe bank holidays on July 16 (Thursday) due to Ratha Yatra, Kang (Rathajatra) and Harela. Banks in Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Imphal and Shillong will remain closed on the occasion.

Banks in Shillong will again remain closed on July 17 (Friday) to mark the Death Anniversary of U Tirot Singh.

On July 18 (Saturday), bank branches in Gangtok will remain closed for Drukpa Tshe-zi, an important Buddhist festival celebrated in Sikkim.

Weekend Bank Holidays in July 2026

In addition to the regional holidays, banks across India will remain closed on all Sundays and on the second and fourth Saturdays, in accordance with RBI guidelines applicable to scheduled and non-scheduled banks.

  • Second Saturday: July 11
  • Fourth Saturday: July 25
